Introducing nested modules for Divi 5

I’m excited to introduce Nested Modules for Divi 5, which can greatly strengthen the flexibility of Divi components and lay the foundation for a complicated component-based menu builder.

Now you’ll be able to load modules inside different modules, with endless nesting possibilities. Build custom layouts inside sliders, tabs, accordions and everything in between. Upload a button to your menu, insert an opt-in form into your blog grid, and much more.

Unlimited nestability for all parts

Inside the settings panel of all local Divi components, you will discover a new team of part possibilities. Click Load Component to add a new row or module to the existing part.

As demonstrated in the video below, I can load a button into a description form or create a custom format using rows within a tab form. To be sure, you’ll be able to load a slider inside a switch inside an accordion, which, while purely silly, illustrates the freedom Divi will give you to build the rest.

Each individual component is a flexible container/grid

We used semantics to provide the means to construct components, similar to rows and columns. Now, any part, including modules, can be a container, and each part comes with the full suite of flexible and grid settings to adjust the format of its children.

You’ll follow the flexible and grid construction patterns for the rest. As noted in the video below, the construction pattern implemented in the My Pricing Tables module controls the format of its pricing table elements, similar to how a row can adjust the layout of its columns.

A module’s format choices can also govern its local content material components. For example, as shown in the video below, if I want to place a blurb module’s symbol to the left of its textual content, it’s as simple as wiping its flexible line path.

New flexible column choices

We’ve added flexible column width choices to all components. If a component is inside a flexible container, you’ll be able to briefly use Divi’s default column widths to build a custom format structure, without using math to calculate optimal width and hole values.

Advanced nested parts UI

We’ve made paintings with nested components easier.

1. Load and paste above/below/inside: First, you will find new choices by right-clicking to add components above, below, or inside components on the canvas. You don’t want to click the plus button to add components; you will be able to use the context menu, which will give you additional rules on where the part is added. Similar choices can be made when gluing, allowing you to attach components above, below, or throughout the entire lens portion.
2. Sortable recording interface: The sortable checklist across the group of component possibilities offers quick access to children’s components.
3. Taken a step further Drag and drop: We’ve also improved Divi’s drag-and-drop device to help you drop items within modules, and we’ve advanced the drag-and-drop marks on the topmost paintings within the grid and flex boxes.

Consolidation of network choices and flexibility

Divi has numerous modules with their own grid format choices, including blog, gallery, and portfolio modules. Those legacy “Grid Mode” settings overlap with Divi 5’s new team of Structure options, which has a much more comprehensive set of choices.

Those legacy grid mode choices have been deprecated and moved to the brand new format possibilities team’s local grid choices.

Likewise, many forms had specific settings to adjust the format path, similar to the email opt-in form’s “Form left, content correct” option.

These choices overlap with Divi 5’s flexible choices within the format possibilities team, and the features have been deprecated and moved to map the format possibilities team’s local flex path settings.

Check out Divi 5 as of late

Nested modules for Divi 5 will be available as of late and is one of the options coming to Divi this year.

You will watch together as the definitive unlock for Divi 5 and previous versions develops, with updates every two weeks. Depending on your priorities, you can use Divi 5 now or wait until we load extra options, whether that works well for you.

The Divi 5 beta begins!

Divi 5 has entered the Public Beta segment, the general segment before its legitimate unlock.

Divi 5 has been available for a while on new websites, however it was once missing a couple of options that current websites definitely couldn’t live without. These features are comprehensive, meaning websites can migrate all legacy Divi 4 modules to the new device and benefit from the many new features we’ve added over the last 12 months.
