Protect Your Pack

When you love someone, you do everything in your power to protect them. I thought I was keeping my dog Luna safe but then she became ill from what my vet could only connect to commonly recommended flea and tick medication and monthly pest control services. I knew there had to be a better way. I founded Wondercide to protect pets, families, and homes with plant-powered formulas that work.

Customers say

Customers like the safety, ease of use, and flea killing of the pet pest control. For example, they mention it’s non-toxic, easy to apply, and does a good job of killing fleas and mosquitoes. That said, some complain about the value, saying it’ll be a waste of money. Opinions are mixed on durability, comfort, smell, and performance.

Works as well as topical tick & flea preventive. No toxic chemical is my No1 reason for using it.
I really hate the smell – it is very strong when first applied, and it lingers for hours. I believe my dog hates it more as their noses are more sensitive. My dog always makes a run for it when I spray her down. Another downside is that you need to spray your dogs with it frequently, like daily. On the label, it says “use as needed for ongoing protection”, and “safe for daily use”. So, basically the manufacturer did not provide any evidence regarding how long the protection lasts after each use. As for the effectiveness, this product does drive away fleas. I saw with my own eyes that a flea jumped for its dear life after I sprayed and fluffed my dog’s coat. The manufacturer said it kills fleas, flea eggs, and larvae, so I would trust that and you should change all beddings, covers, or anything you can throw into the washing machine if you spot a flea issue. Then continue to spray your dog with the product and any furniture they encounter for good measure. After all, you won’t be able to see flea eggs and they are the root cause that your flea problem persists despite all efforts of eliminating adult fleas. As for ticks, I think this product is just as effective as topical tick prevention. First, most oral tick prevention requires the ticks to bite so they can die within 24 hours which is not enough time for them to transmit Lyme disease. Most topical tick prevention contains permethrin so it will prevent and repel tick attachment, but it is not 100%. I suspect the cedar oil smell in Wondercide will repel tick attachment, because I have never found a tick after using the spray that day (but not next day). But I am not 100% sure how cedar oil works on ticks. More science needed to be done. All I know is that ticks are harder to kill than fleas, but most diseases require the tick to attach for more than 48 hours. In other words, finding a slightly engorged (and likely dying) tick on your dog is mostly likely fine as it takes time for them to transmit disease. Anyway, I guess what I am trying to say is that ticks prevention is harder to achieve with Wondercide, but it gives similar level of protection as compared to oral or topical treatment, without the harsh chemicals. As of now, Nov 2023, I was not able to find any better solutions than Wondercide for my dog. Cedar oil seems to be the least toxic solution so I am going to stick with it until something better comes along.

Can use it on kittens and it works
It’s gentle and it works. I have a bunch of kittens and I was worried about using chemicals. This stuff kills the fleas on contact. I got the cedar and the smell is pleasant.

    great product
it’s great HOWEVER the scent is STRONG i LOVE the smell of lemongrass so i was like eh why not should’ve listened to the reviews it’s a very strong scent so if your sensitive to smells i would try a different scent

This stuff works without poisoning my dog
This spray keeps the ticks off, and my dog knows where they live and likes to visit them. I was actually surprised that it work so well, and also that it doesn’t take much, a few general squirts on paws, belly, sides and we’re off. It seems to last for a day, but better safe than sorry. I’m sure the smell is obnoxious for the dog, so I try to spray him outside or just before we go out.

Not as effective as previous formulas
When I first began using this product, probably near 2019, it worked GREAT. As I began an application, fleas would scramble away from that area and I would find dead adults here or there. I saw results in a reasonable amount of time (roughly 2-3 weeks the fleas were no longer an issue in our multi-pet household) and have kept this in my house ever since. We went a few years without fleas returning.Unfortunately, last year they returned and wondercide was *much* less effective. I kept using it but would find fleas alive and moving on my dog hours after applying wondercide all over her fur. It took months to eliminate the fleas, which I partially attribute to adding a flea shampoo into the mix. Fleas stayed off the way they used to with wondercide. This year they’ve begun again, and once more I’ve found live adults on my dogs hours after or the day after thoroughly applying wondercide to their entire bodies. I don’t know what’s changed but I’m beyond disappointed. The smell wasn’t particularly pleasant before, but the post- 2022 formula makes my entire family gag. I had always used the lemon but switched to rosemary and it is no easier on them. They get a headache.

    Worked amazing
I was hesitant to purchase because it’s not a chemical poison and I wasn’t sure its efficacy. Fortunately, I live in an area where fleas are not native and I picked some up in Northern California and brought them home, where they are certainly able to survive. I had well over 100 bites. I was going insane. I treated my whole house with this stuff and it’s amazing! I got the cedar wood and it does smell reminiscent of a playground’s wood chips. I didn’t think it was incredibly strong like others said, certainly not a drawback. Anyway, now it’s two days later and I haven’t gotten a single bite or seen one since. I’m going to continue to stay vigilant but I am so grateful to have found a safe and EFFECTIVE treatment for my home without introducing harmful ingredients to my home. Thank you!

    unexpectedly good (for mosquitos)
my dog is on an oral flea and tick preventative, so I can’t comment on this product’s efficacy in preventing fleas and ticks specifically, but I can definitely comment on how it works with repelling mosquitos! my dog would unfortunately get swarmed with mosquitos in the hot+humid Georgia summers, so I searched around to find a pet-safe mosquito repellent spray. I came across this one and while I was initially hesitant to spend as much as I did for it, I do not regret it at all! it’s strong-smelling (I got rosemary) but very tolerable, and the product seems to be lasting pretty long with 5-6 daily sprays. my dog has no problem with it at all with his medium-length fur, and I haven’t seen a mosquito anywhere near him after I started using this product. it does seem to wear off after a day though, so I do agree with the daily re-application recommendation. overall, highly recommend for a mosquito repellent!
